No Comp for Impact Worker Injured on the Job

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

An Impact Cleaning Services Limited (Impact) worker, has provided video-testimony alleging he was not given compensation after falling and injuring himself on the job in the past.

‘George’ (not his real name) wishes to remain anonymous because he fears reprisals by the company. He has worked at Impact sites for more than three years now.

“I was working and I hit my head; it felt like [I had] a concussion and I was not able to stand up for a couple of hours,” he says. When a company supervisor finally arrived he told the ‘George’, “It’s not our responsibility. You have to call your subcontractor.”
